Perhaps duplicates have been accidentally created when taking an order or perhaps your website connection is spawning duplicates left right and centre?
Productivity Suite's "Merge duplicated customers" operation automatically identifies potential duplicates and allows you to merge them whilst retaining all history!
As with all operations which modify your Sage accounts you should take a backup first just in case.
When you are ready to start select the "Merge duplicated customers" operation and press "Go". Check the fields that you want to test for duplication – a record will be identified as a duplicate if it satisfies all the criteria. Press "Next" when you are ready. The next screen is a review of the computers findings. Each customer on the left hand pane is the "master" of an identified group of duplicates. Click on one to see the customers that will be merged into it when you continue.
The groups shown are not set in stone. If you don't think that a customer should be merged into the group shown then click that customer then the "Do not merge" button; this will remove it completely from the merging process. If you believe that a whole group of customers is wrong then click on the group's master and click "Do not merge"; this will remove the whole group from the merging process.
If you want a different customer to become the master customer of the group then select it and press "Make master".
To see more details about the customers in order to make informed decisions you can select a customer and press "Customer details". You may have as many customer details screens open as you like.
Once you are happy that the right customers are being merged press the "Next" button. A final confirmation screen is displayed. This is your last point at which to cancel. Press the "Next"; button to carry out the merge.
